KHARADI

Why the first few grooms matter in Kharadi

Kharadi has grown fast. New towers along the bypass and around the EON and WTC office parks keep filling up, and if you've just brought home a puppy or kitten, the first few grooms matter more than any haircut later: they decide whether your pet grows up calm about being handled. We groom in your flat, so your puppy meets the clippers and dryer in the one place it already trusts.

Making the first groom a good one

Start once vaccinations are done: usually around 3 to 4 months, when your vet gives the go-ahead.
Keep it short: a first session is a bath, a gentle blow-dry on low, nails, ears and a neat trim around the eyes and feet. Save the full haircut for later visits.
Sound before air: the groomer switches the dryer on away from your puppy first, lets it get used to the noise, then brings it closer.
Stay nearby: most young pets settle faster when their person is in the room. A few treats help.

Our guide to a stress-free first grooming experience covers what to practise at home before the visit.

When can my puppy have its first groom?

After its last vaccination, once your vet is happy, which for most puppies is somewhere between 3 and 4 months. Until then, brush gently and handle the paws and ears at home so your puppy gets used to it.

Our society doesn't allow pets in the main lift. Is that a problem?

No. The groomer comes to you, so your pet stays in the flat. Just tell security a groomer is visiting and which lift they should use.

Can you groom a kitten?

Yes. Kittens get a short, quiet session: a gentle bath or wipe-down, nails and a comb-through, with the dryer on its lowest setting.

Is there a travel charge for Kharadi or Wagholi?

No. Prices are the same across Pune.
